Undrafted. Undersized. Under-represented as a Filipino in the NFL. Nikko Remigio was signed by the Kansas City Chiefs, but tragically - after a preseason game the receiver was injured and out for the season. Now, Nikko travels half way around the world, to his native Philippines to reconnect with his culture, to give back to his community and go on a spiritual quest with family to prepare himself for the greatest challenge of his life.

 

The film follows Nikko from rehab to not making the 53 to a practice squad purgatory, and then - when the call finally come - into a December debut. By January, he’s on special teams in the playoffs: a defining response in the AFC Championship, and the walk into the Super Bowl with his family. 

 

The emotional spine is universal: a young man trying to earn his place, represent his people, and prove that skill, preparation, and character can bend the odds.
